In order to improve the efficiency of a solar drying system in which a greenhouse for grain drying
is used, heat-collection performances of the greenhouse were studied. A black or blue vinyl sheet was
put on the floor inside the greenhouse as a heat-collection surface,and then it was used as an air collector. Radiation characteristics,changes of temperature and humidity in the air inside the greenhouse,
and the heat collection efficiency were investigated on each surface. It was found that,from these viewpoints,the black vinyl sheet is most efficient for heat collection.
The heat collection efficiency which is adapted for the house collector under a non-stationary operating condition was proposed. The efficiency was measured simply and quickly and then showed by multiple regression formulas. A method of calculation of the heat-collection area fitted for the drying scale by these formulas was presented.
