Examination of marginal increments of scales showed that ring marks were formed once a year, from February to April. The relationships between fork length (FL in mm) and scale radius (R in mm) were shown by separate equations for each sex: FL - 26.1 R + 22.1 (for males); FL = 24.8 R + 29.3 (for females). In addition, von Bertalanffy's growth equations for fork length (L_1) and weight (W_1) at full age (t) were as follows: L_1 = 380(1 - exp (-0.244(t + 0.887))), W_1 = 1160(1-exp (-0.244(t+0.887)))^<2.95>. No sexual differences were found in the growth of G. punctata.
