The paper focuses on Schule Schloss Salem, a German boarding school founded in 1920 and located in a rural setting, whose core educational concept encourages experience-oriented practice in both local and global contexts. The school's curriculum requires experience-oriented practice through various kinds of workshop training and social service. For a full century, this curriculum has continuously been grounded in Kurt Hahn’s (1886-1976) educational concepts, but it has also featured constant change in line with current trends.
