Since it is a Japanese class that plays a role in bridging the specialized class of the faculty, it is a “higher-order thinking” role that allows students to use the vocabulary and grammar that they have already learned and to carry out advanced activities that make full use of the four skills acquired in the class. I designed a flipped classroom. In this flipped classroom, the materials were read in the Moodle pre-learning phase. The abstract was presented; the vocabulary was explained; the question-and-answer session was held; and the discussion was conducted in the Zoom class.\nThe syllabus discusses topics and skills. The topics were provided by the teacher; the vocabulary and agenda were extracted by the students; and a posteriori syllabus was created. The skills practiced included reading materials in advance; summarizing them in PPT; presenting, questioning, and discussing them in class; listening; and writing comments after class.\nFrom the students' reflection after class, in addition to praise for the class as interesting and fun, the results of improvement of four skills and connection and expansion to other skills are also reported, making full use of the four skills even online.
