However, it is revealed that activation of platelet-derived growth factor receptor (PDGFR) caused neuronal apoptosis, possibly leading to the development of epileptogenesis, while a PDGFR antagonist inhibited neuronal apoptosis. As a PDGFR antagonist is clinically available, it may be easy to apply it to clinical practice.
