| 内容記述 | This paper reports the research with Japanese student tutors for international students at Mie University in the Fall semester in 2024. The research utilized data from the student tutors’ reports and that from a survey conducted with the student tutors. The outcome indicated that most Japanese student tutors were heling for international students’ daily lives, rather than for the international students’ studies. Also, Japanese student tutors found benefits from their communications with international students; benefits such as gaining intercultural experiences, getting interested in foreign cultures and languages, noticing differences of their own language (Japanese) from other languages, and so forth. However, the survey results detected some tutors who had problems in their relationships with international students. In order to solve this problem, the Center for International Education and Research, Mie University, might need to consider the genders of a tutor and an international student when matching them. | |||||||||
