Data were collected through semi-structured interviews for eight patients who knew their own diseases and the necessity of outpatient chemotherapy.  Inductive and qualitative analysis were employed for analyzing data.  Six categories were identified.【pain related to chemotherapy】,【pain caused from the existence of cancer itself】,【pain related to outpatient chemotherapy】,【pain related to the modulation of the role.】,【pain related to human relations】,【spiritual pain】.\n　From the obtained results, there were the following features in the pain of lung cancer patients receiving outpatient chemotherapy.  ① The main physical pain consisted of side effects such as fatigue, peripheral neuropathy, and depilation.  ② There was the emotional pain in an uncertain prognosis and continuing treatment without limitation.  ③ The outpatient chemotherapy enabled the extension of staying home and the continuity of the social life.
