The results of the questionnaires were measured on the emotional intelligence scale (EQS) and the scale of nurses performance for goal attainment (NPGA). Respondents included 157 nurses and 89 third year nursing students.\n The following results were obtained. The nurses understood the patients emotions and the nurses took suitable care of the patients situations for their goal attainment. The nursing students could understand patients emotions, but they had difficulty helping the patients goal attainment since the nursing students had few choices for the suitable care of the patients. The relation between insight, leadership, situation control, and NPGA was lower with the nursing students than with the nurses.
