Pieces of visceral organs of affected yellowtail fry were kept in 0.85% saline at 5℃ for one month. Various sizes of multinucleate spherical bodies germinated three days after inoculation. Endospores were produced in one week after inoculation but they never grew during the one month observation. On the Sabouraud dextrose agar long hyphae grew from pieces of visceral organs of affected Japanese eel at 18℃ in one week after inoculation. Heavy-walled spores were formed at the tips of the hyphae in one week after that. In the TGC fluid medium, hyphae grew from pieces of visceral organs of affected yellowtail fry at 23℃ in one week after inoculation.
