Fracture toughness of wood-based composite boards were the largest in air-dry moisture content. Fracture toughness of wood- based composite boards decreased with decreasing moisture content under air-dry moisture content. On the other hand, those of inorganic boards increased slightly with deceasing moisture content. The correlation between coefficient of swelling and fracture toughness was stronger than that between moisture content and fracture toughness in wood-based composite board.
