The diatom fouling being presumably associated with Bennettella ceticola (Nelson ex Bennett) Holmes, showed wide range of distribution in fin whales whereas it mainly distributed only in the regions around the eyes and the upper and lower jaws in sei whales. Minke whales are uncertain, but probably have a similar pattern as fin whales.
