The dially disulfide content of tbe bulb(percentage of Fukuchi White strain)varied from 10.1 to 570.2, the average being 122.5 and the coefificient of variation 123.1%. The highest value for dially disulfide content was for a sample from Aichi Prefecture local strainthat had a relative low fresh bulb weight of 12.53g with a red sheath color. The lowest value was for a sample from Egypt strainthat had a low fresh bulb weight of 3.83g with a white sheath color and a high clove number per bulb of 19.
