This paper examines the relation of intake rate !o rainfall in Meiji irrigation district. The relation of these tow factores in a five days' average makes up nearly an inverse proportion line. The relation has not resultcd from saving intake for irrigation but preventing flood in the urban parts of the irrigation district by the intake rate management office. Gekerally speaking, the water suply system for paddy fields has many canals and branches.
