An aliquot of the nucleotide fraction was subjected to high voltage paper electrophoresis 3000 V for 90 min at pH 3.5, and then examined by microbioassay method with Lactobacillus leichmannii ATCC 7830. Four deoxyribotides (dCMP, dAMP, dGMP and dUMP or dTMP)were detected on the paper. Each compound on the electropherogram was eluted with water and digested with 5'-nucleotidase. The digest was developed on Tōyō No. 50 paper by ascending technique with n-butanol-water-conc. ammonia(255 : 45 : 0.5 v/v), and then investigated by the microbioassay. Deoxyriboside detected was dC, dA, dG, dU and dT, respectively.
