Further, the study finds that there are two types of grammatical deviation, one of them generated by confusion with the meaning of the ~zu ni wa okanai construction, and one by
misinterpreting the construction as having the opposite meaning. The study also considers possible causes for this deviation. In addition, a questionnaire survey of Japanese university students in their teens and twenties was performed, which found 1) a high degree of acceptance of the deviant examples of the ~zu ni wa irarenai construction and 2) a low degree of awareness of the ~zu ni wa okanai construction.},
