 note = {application/pdf, エマスンの詩をエマスンの作品全体の中に位置づけ、詩がもつ現代的な意味を明らかにした。エマスンの詩は当時の科学が発見した自然観に基づく世俗的、現代的な精神を表現しており、より慣習的な思想に縛られるエッセイを読む上で、エマスンの新しい世界観を示唆する用語集、重要概念の指標になることを実証した。エマスンの思考の全体性を表わすような形で詩を分類し、エマスンを広く一般に知らせるための訳詩集の出版の準備を整えた。, By reading Emerson’s poetry closely in relation to his prose, we investigated the location and meaning of poetry in Emerson’s work. His poetry turns out to be more clearly based on the scientific perspective current to his world than his essays which retain more of the conventional ideas held by the audience. The poetry thus functions as an index and a glossary to the important ideas implied or hidden in his essays.
