Under the commonly used cutting speed, some ultra short-time cutting operations, (about 0.006-0.02 seconds) are performed, and the behavior of the formation and propagation of damage in the early stage of cutting is investigated in detail through the observation of worked surfaces and the cutting edge. Consequently it was clarified that no visible damage is formed at the end period of the rubbing region, and beyond the dug-up region damage is formed and propagates very quickly. Furthermore a very convenient method of evaluating the quantity of the damage at the beginning of the cutting region with chips is Proposed.}, pages = {1969--1973}, title = {超硬合金切削工具の初期損傷進展に関する考察}, volume = {56}, year = {1990} }
