Coding of UHDTV needs enormous operations to meet a high accuracy requirement for motion estimation. Due to enormous operations, parallel processing is indispensible for real time encoding. But, the transmission bottleneck of a reference frame becomes an obstacle forhighly parallel processing. In this paper, I proposed a new distributed reference memory architecture that dissolved the transmission bottleneck at hierarchical motion estimation, which used square pattern search in 2nd search and 3rd search. At proposed memory architecture, it is possible to transmit pixel data by line units. Through this architecture, it suppresses an increase memory area, and can parallel processing.
