| 内容記述 | 本研究は、クワクワカワクゥというカナダ先住民を事例に、カナダの先住民社会における経済開発、経済的自立の模索を跡付け、分析することを目的としている。長きに渡り、クワクワカワクゥを支えてきたサケ漁業の衰退をうけ、近年注目されているのがサケの養殖業である。そこで本研究では、クワクワカワクゥによるサケの養殖業の認識と活動を中心に、分析をすすめている。なお、研究の最終年度には、養殖業のほかに、サケ漁業およびアート制作の経済開発の可能性についても議論をおこなっている。 | |||||||||

| 内容記述 | The target of this research project is to trace and analyze some attempts of economic development among the First Nations of Canada, focusing on the Kwakwaka'wakw society of British Columbia. The Kwakwaka'wakw has long been dependent on the commercial salmon fishery and enjoyed a sort of economic success. However, with the depression of the fishery in the 1990s, those people started paying attention to another industry such as salmon aquaculture. Thus this study mainly focused on perception and concrete activities on salmon aquaculture. Besides, in the final year of this project, this study argues economic possibility of other activities such as salmon fishery and art production. | |||||||||
