| 内容記述 | Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to explain the content and context of learning and instructional support provided by field librarians at the University of Michigan. The research question is: How do faculty members and librarians build collaboration in the learning support and instructional support provided by libraries? Methods: This is a descriptive case study presenting a detailed account of the learning and instructional support provided by the field librarians. The data are interview data, archival records, administrative documents, reports, dissertations, data on physical artifacts and observational data. Results: Field librarians are librarians who are out of the library buildings and are embedded in faculties. Their main mission is to provide learning and instructional support to students and faculty members in the faculty. Field librarians were introduced into the Women' s Studies Program, the School of Art and Design and the Department of Classical Studies, and were expected to build collaboration between these faculties and libraries. Field librarians have their offices in the faculty and provide learning and instructional support services both for individuals and groups in the faculty. Field librarians identify the needs of students and faculty members through informal communication with them. In the future, the results of this case study will be analyzed based on the grounded theory approach in order to develop a conceptual framework for building collaboration between faculty members and librarians in education. | |||||||||

| 内容記述 | 【目的】近年, 日本の大学では, 教育の質保証を目指した大規模な改革を進めている。大学図書館でも, 多様な取り組みによって教育の質保証に貢献しようとしている。その主な取り組みとして, 学生に対する学習活動の支援(学習支援)がある。高い学習成果を得られる学習支援を実現するためには, 授業と図書館利用の関連づけや教員と図書館員の連携が重要になる。その中で, 大学図書館に対する教員の理解を深めることが重要になるために, 教員に対する教育活動の支援(教育支援)についても検討することが必要になる。本稿の目的は, 米国のミシガン大学のケース・スタディによって, 「図書館が実施する学習支援や教育支援において, 教員と図書館員はどのように連携しているのか」という研究課題を明らかにすることである。特に, 2002年に導入されたフィールド・ライブラリアンに焦点をあてて, これを明らかにする。【方法】記述的なケース・スタディによって, 上記の研究課題を明らかにする。対象とするデータは, 聞き取りによって得られた情報, 資料記録, 管理文書, 事例報告, 学術論文, 物理的環境に関する記録, 直接観察によって得られた情報である。【結果】以上の調査により, 次のことが明らかになった。(1)フィールド・ライブラリアンは, 学習支援や教育支援などの図書館サービスを提供するために部局に派遣される図書館員である。(2)図書館と部局との連携が十分ではなかったために, 利用サービス担当の部長が, 図書館員が教員の教育環境や研究環境と一体化して活動するひとつの方法として, フィールド・ライブラリアンの導入を提案した。(3)女性学研究科, 芸術・デザイン研究科, 古典学研究科にフィールド・ライブラリアンを設置した。(4)フィールド・ライブラリアンは, それぞれが担当する部局にオフィスを構え, 部局の関係者と交流する中で, そのニーズを明らかにし, 部局や教員との連携をもとに多様な学習支援や教育支援を実施している。 | |||||||||
