| 内容記述 | The authors constructed the life cycle of Ichthyophonus in the infected fish tissues. The life cycle was made by four stages ; growing stage, pre-germination stage, hyphal development stage and proliferation stage. 1) Growing stage ; The youngest form is binuclear bodies. They grow to multinucleate-spherical bodies increasing in size, the number of nuclei, the cytoplasmic density and thickness of the cell wall. 2) Pre-germination stage ; The well grown, multinucleate-spherical bodies undergo the stage preparative to germination. They are characterized by a further increase in the nuclear number, concentration of the cytoplasm, plasmolysis, forming the pseudopodium-like protuberance of the cell and secretion of a new cell wall inside the primal one. 3) Hyphal development stage ; The cell of the spherical body germinates through its primal cell wall and extends to form the hyphal body. The extention of the hyphal body depends on the migration of the cell of the spherical body. The hyphal body is always walled by the newly secreted cell wall. 4) Proliferation stage ; Hyphal spores are produced by the cell division of the hyphal bodies and released from open ends. The produced hyphal spores vary in the nuclear number from one to ten. From a histological observation, the authors might define the grorving stage of multinucleate-spherical bodies as the vegetative phase, and the hyphal body as a reproductive organism. The authors might demonstrate the presence of the pre-germination stage in the life cycle. |
