| 内容記述 | The Japanese agriculture underwent a major transformation for efficient and rationalized system in the modernization process of 1960's. However, the result did not fulfill all the expectations. Japanese agricultural production started to decline by the effect of world trade liberalization. The contaminated farm production was rise due to increased use of agricultural chemicals affecting not only the human health but causing serious damages to the environment. The agricultural sciences emerged with a new orientation. It was more academic subdivided into specialized fields but it failed to solve the above mentioned agricultural problems. In 1990s, national financial logjam and collapse of the bubble economy played a leading role to reorganize agricultural sciences into its sophisticated form. Thus, the Faculty of Bio-resource science, was developed in few universities of the country. The study of Bio-resources is characterized with the feature of maintaining, developing and utilization of living things and their functioning in a sustainable way. Bio-resource scientists are requested to study the technology which is more stable and sustainable, close to nature, the system is more vital for the regional agriculture and its development with close collaboration of the local residents. Professor Soda has pointed out, too, new orientation of agricultural sciences in his book "Principle of Agricultural Sciences". In short, for sustainable agricultural practices, agricultural sciences should have close relationship with agricultural activities and farmer' needs. The subdivided specialized disciplines in Bio-resource study should be synthesized to resolve actual problems. | |||||||||||
