| 内容記述 | When teachers show grammatical structures to learners, they explain the basic meaning of those phrases and point out some words and expressions they frequently co-occur with, for the purpose of improving students' grasp of the structures．However, it is not easy to give such examples, and improper usage examples abound on the Internet．To clarify the distribution of the -zu ni ha okanai expression, this study compares newspaper articles and literary works．The findings show that the "spontaneous" meaning is frequent in newspaper articles, while the "volition" meaning is prevalent in novels．Moreover, the "spontaneous" meaning frequently occurs with predicates with emotional meaning or predicates denoting a change caused to the other participant, while the "volition" meaning occurs with predicates denoting aggression．For the purposes of teaching, in addition to the explanation of the basic meaning, it would be more efficient to touch upon such co-occurring words and expressions, as well as the respective media of occurrence. |
