| 内容記述 | The number of those taking over the family business of farming has dropped drastically these days in Japan. From now, the new farmers have made their appearance and have no farm assets at the beginning. This article intends to clarify such new farmers' lifestyles and views regarding agriculture, though most of the former research has tended to see them as supply of agricultural labor force; new farmers' novel thoughts and lifestyles could stimulate the traditional agricultural world to rethink its fixed idea. Several common characteristics resulted from intensive interviews with seven new farmers, although most of them are 'life-oriented', that is, not 'business-oriented'. The main findings are as follows. First, they want to completely control all aspects of business and life. They not only produce agricultural products but sell them. They of course produce their own food, in fact one of them has made his own home. Second, they are more personal rather than belonging to social groups. A few them sell products to their friends and acquaintances associated with their previous job. Third, they do not want to get involved with any social movement or things of that sort. This might be the greatest difference between the new farmers in 70's and those entering this field of work now. |

| 内容記述 | 近年わが国では，自家農業後継者の数が激減している。こうした中で，後継する農業基盤を持たない新規参入農業者に焦点が集まりつつある。従来の研究はそれらの新 規参入農業者を農業労働力の補充とみなす傾向があった が，小稿ではかれらの生活と農業観を明らかにしたいと 思う。新規参入農業者の斬新な考えと生活様式は，伝統 的な農業界に自らの固定観念の再考を迫りうると考える からである。7人の新規参入農業者への詳しいインタヴューを通じて，いくつかの共通の特徴が明らかとなった。ただし，事例のほとんどは「生活志向」型の参入者であって，「農業志向」型の参入者ではない。主な結果は以下の通りである。第1に，彼らは生活の全局面を自らの手で把握したいという願望を持っている。彼らは農産物の生産だけでなく，販売も行なっている。もちろん，自給もしているし，中には自分で家を建てた者もいる。第2に，彼らは社会集団よりも，むしろ個人的な社会的ネットワークを利用している。生産物を前職時代の友人や知人に販売する事例も2，3あった。第3に，彼らは社会運動や厳格な信条に巻き込まれることをよしとしない。この点は，1970年代の新規参入農業者と今日のそれらとの相違点であるといえよう。 |
