| 内容記述 | Foreign language pedagogical activity in elementary school is typically limited to mere classroom conversation in English. Therefore, this study aims to propose an alternative that can cultivate cultural communication skills and cross-cultural sensitivity. \nIn this study, the concept of `cultural understanding' refers to the development of cross-cultural sensitivity in society, based on the practice of Education for Sustainable Development. The method used to develop cultural understanding was cultural exchanges through videoconferencing. As a result, the students obtained a positive understanding of Australian culture and were able to effectively communicate Japanese culture during the cultural exchanges. \nThe results reveal that the unit for cultural understanding can cultivate crosscultural communications skills and sensitivity among students. |
